FAQ
Q: Where are you based?
A: I am permanently based in the North-East, however I also have a base in the Lake District and am happy to travel anywhere in the UK and also internationally.
Q: How do I secure my date?
A: A deposit of £200 is required to confirm a date; this is non-refundable in the event of a date change or cancellation. If I am available on the new date, however, I am happy to change the booking.
Q: How do your prices reflect coverage for the evening?
A: My prices include full day attendance from the bride getting ready to after the first dance. I want to create the best images and atmosphere on your day; 'clock watching' is not conducive to capturing the 'real' moments, therefore I do not specify working hours or limit myself to a specific number of shots.
Q: What is the idea behind the post-shoot?
A: The premise behind the post shoot is that it provides the opportunity to create more stylized images of the bride and groom. Some people choose this option and dedicate time on the wedding day for this – venue and grounds permitting. While others have opted to dedicate a few hours, a day or two later, deciding on a picturesque landscape often somewhere special to the couple.
Q: My fiancée doesn't like his photo taken. How can you accommodate him?
A: The style of photography I will bring to your wedding is much more natural and observational. There is no need for unnatural poses, I feel observational shots chronicle the true essence of the day.
Q: I don't want coverage of me getting ready, how does this affect price?
A: Special requests like this can be accommodated. If you contact me with specific requirements I can create a bespoke price, which reflects partial day coverage
Q: How far in advance can I book you?
A: As long as you have your date confirmed then the £200 deposit will secure your booking whatever the date.
Q: Do you take on weddings in the winter?
A: I am very happy to do winter weddings. You can achieve some great results at that time of year with interesting lighting and dramatic landscapes. I am happy to book weddings all year round subject to availability.
Q: How do you cope with shooting venues that are new to you?
A: As well as ensuring a thorough visit to the venue previous to the wedding to consider positioning, angles and backdrops (Generally this is with the couple on our final meet up before the wedding), some of the best photography comes with a more impromptu approach, developing a freshness, which is reflected within the photos.
