You probably couldn’t get more intimate than Phil and Kate’s Humanist ceremony. With 16 guests in attendance the feeling here was extremely special and I was honoured to be a part of it. It was great to go international too; in bonny Scotland. The setting they choose was Harburn House, a beautiful Georgian Mansion. The day one of the heaviest rains in a while, apart from just after the service, perfect timing for a few couple photographs! Even managed to get one with Phil’s beloved TVR.

I hope you enjoy the images. At the bottom are a list of the suppliers who helped make Phil and Kate’s day so fantastic. Including, Kate’s sister who hand made Kate’s stunning dress.

“After months of scouring the internet and travelling to many wedding fairs up and down the country we happened upon Phil Smith at a wedding event in Newcastle. We were about to leave after speaking to a couple of other photographers and not being inspired, when Phil spoke to us as we were leaving the room, talk about timing! Within minutes Kate and I both knew we had potentially found our man, the way Phil spoke about our day with such enthusiasm and care made us instantly at home with him.

Phil met with us to listen to what it was that we wanted from him, we looked at the venue and he made suggestions based on the guests attending, timings etc, pretty much taking everything into consideration.

On the wedding day itself Phil put everyone at ease with a professional yet relaxed and friendly style. Both Kate and I are not naturally comfortable being photographed however Phil’s unobtrusive and skilful execution meant we were always completely at ease.

Phil has produced some iconic and stunning images of our wedding day, which to us was the best day of our lives and the story has been immortalised in some stunning and creative albums.

Phil Smith has a unique talent for what he does and we would  recommend him whole heartedly in fact I christened him ‘The man who is in love, with love’ A thoroughly nice man.”
