When I was asked by Ruth and Brett to capture their wedding, I was delighted. Their location of choice was the stunning Crook Hall & Gardens: A hidden gem right in the heart of Durham city centre. You’d never guess it was only a few minutes away from a busy city. The grounds are idyllic and quintessential English gardens. The gardens themselves was where the ceremony was held. It was fantastic to shoot an outdoor wedding. The day itself was very relaxed and personal, with a small selection of friends and family in attendance. Ruth and Brett’s children had a part to play by doing a reading during the ceremony (few tears were had at this point). Brett’s brother was best man and the speeches took place in the 13th century medieval hall.
